There are so many types of detoxes available it is worth taking the time to research which detox is best for you. I have been detoxing for over 18 years, and I have completed so many detoxes including the sugar-free detox. parasite detox, colonic (yep a colonic is a type of detox), dairy free (before I went plant based), fruit detox, veg detox, smoothie detox and fasting. All had differing outcomes but they all helped me reduce toxins in my body in various ways.
Some of the most common detoxes are:
Raw food detox
A raw food detox concentrates on you eating mainly raw food and veg. By eating raw foods, you are eliminating the cooking process said to reduce the nutritional value of food and less processed food are consumed so the body. You also drink lots of water, juices and coconut water to help with the elimination of toxins.
The only concern with this detox is that as meat and dairy are eliminated from the diet, there is there is not enough protein in the diet. However, if you carry our the right research, you will be able to find the vegetables that are high in protein and so your protein levels can remain high.
A juice detox is just what it says on the tin! you drink juices.Juicing floods the body with vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, and phytochemicals. In juice form, these nutrients are ready for quick absorption and bring incredible benefits to the immune system. Juices made from vegetables are rich in nutrients and when using alkaline vegetables, they help release acids that can act as toxins in the body.
The liver, kidneys, and bowel all play important roles in Detoxing. When we detox the toxins that are removed from the body are usually processed through the liver and then eliminated through the bowel or urine that is filtered through the kidneys. Therefore, these organs can be bombarded with toxins, especially during a detoxification regime. It may be an important step to detoxify these organs after the initial detoxification has taken place. There are several herbal supplements which support these organs detoxification.
